Bookies say let it snow

-

Bookies have slashed the odds of areas having a white Christmas to 3/1 in Glasgow and 11/4 in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Spokesman for betting firm McBookie, Paul Petrie, said: “This winter’s not been bad so far, despite all the warnings of sub-zero hell.

“But there’s now definitely something snowy on the radar for later in the month.

“It’s now a question of whether it falls only on the hills or lower down on the airports, which is where the measurements are taken.”

Parts of Dumfriesshire saw a dusting of snow last festive season, but a white Christmas is only rubber-stamped if a meteorologist witnesses it and so the last official one was in 2014.
