Dounreay’s last flight
The last flight carrying nuclear waste from Dounreay to the USA flew out of Scotland yesterday.
It was the second “Doomsday” flight this year, but an informed source said: “There will be no more. This is the last one.”
The news will be welcomed by MPs, MSPs and anti-nuclear activists dismayed by the flights in a deal brokered by ex-prime minister David Cameron and former US president Barack Obama.
The flight left from Wick John O’Groats Airport.
