Walking through time

Archaeologists have unearthed the remains of a medieval man from the River Thames, still wearing leather boots.

The skeleton is thought to date back to the late 15th Century, and was found during excavation work for London’s “super sewer”.

The extremely rare and well-preserved knee highs are described as “practical, everyday boots” that could have been a dock worker’s waders.

Talk about being tough as old boots.
