This level of stupidity is no laughing matter for Gunners
So it turns out some of Arsenal’s top stars spent their summer inhaling laughing gas.
Well, I bet they aren’t laughing now.
I can’t get my head around why footballers would want to touch a substance known as “hippy crack” – let alone in a nightclub.
The likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, PierreEmerick Aubameyang, and Mattéo Guendouzi, were allegedly seen to inhale nitrous oxide in footage relseased last week
It’s not illegal – but the level of stupidity needed to do it is beyond me.
The incident is supposed to have happened in August, while Arsenal were in pre-season training.
Maybe that explains why the players were inhaling this gas instead of drinking.
Their fitness gets tested every day in pre-season, and a hangover would cause a fairly obvious drop-off in performance.
But as role models for kids, these footballers shouldn’t be doing things like this.
The least they should be able to do in return for the millions they are paid is live sensibly – at least during their playing careers.
After that, they can do what they like.
But for now, Arsenal – and football – cannot turn a blind eye to it.
