Suspicions are raised about another Morecambe resident’s involvemen­t with the twins and the police rush to find them. Abbie grows closer to newcomer Vincent, while Rob agrees to take on a risky dare. Frustrated by the police investigat­ion, Sean takes matters into his own hands.

The third season has been airing in the US ahead of the UK for the first time, which hasn’t gone down well with British fans. However, the wait is finally over on this side of the pond, as the lavish period drama resumes. It’s 1848 – a tumultuous and uncertain year in which several European nations embraced revolution – placing the British monarchy under pressure and the Queen’s advisers warn her to leave London to avoid the possibilit­y of an uprising.

Victoria, Albert and their young family find themselves taking in refugees when the queen’s halfsister and a king who has been overthrown come to the palace seeking sanctuary.

John Sessions and Laurence Fox join the cast as Prime Minister Lord John Russell and future PM and warmongeri­ng foreign secretary Lord Palmerston, respective­ly.

MasterChef: The Finals BBC1, 8.30pm, Friday

As the search for the country’s best amateur chef reaches its climax, the last three contestant­s have to really come up with the goods before judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode choose the victor.

There’s just three more hours for them to prove their worth, and produce jaw-droppingly good food for the judges. Which one of them will become the 15th MasterChef Champion?

Black Hawk Down

This depicts the real-life events that saw US soldiers sent to kidnap the lieutenant­s of a ruling warlord to quell the 1993 Somalian civil war.

But two helicopter­s were shot down and the survivors caught in a firefight with armed villagers, while a daring rescue bid was launched.

Regarding Henry

Film4, 6.40pm, Monday

Henry Turner, an unscrupulo­us New York lawyer played by Harrison Ford, has his life turned upside down when he’s shot in the head by a robber.

Eventually, he becomes a much better person while recuperati­ng thanks to the love and dedication of his wife and daughter.

Kill Bill: Vol 1 Film4, 9pm, Monday

A female assassin, played by Uma Thurman, decides to quit the profession, get married and raise a family – only to be shot on her wedding day and left for dead.

Four years later, she wakes up from a coma intent on revenge and sets off to wipe out her former colleagues.

Director Quentin Tarantino is in top form.

Rear Window Film4, 2.35pm, Tuesday

This cinematic masterpiec­e is as good as movies get. James Stewart stars as a wheelchair­bound photograph­er who whiles away the hours by gazing out of his window.

He becomes convinced he has witnessed his neighbour murder his wife and chop her into little pieces. A true Alfred Hitchcock classic.

Rock of Ages ITV2, 8pm, Wednesday

Wannabe singer Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) leaves Oklahoma for the bright lights of LA, where her luggage and prized record collection are stolen the moment she steps off the bus.

She is rescued by aspiring rocker Drew Boley (Diego Boneta) who works as a bartender at The Bourbon Room.

Stranger Than Fiction Sony Movie Channel, 4.45pm, Thursday

Hugely rewarding Will Ferrell comedy drama.

Speed E4, 9pm, Friday
