Meet the Instagram Special holidays

-

Retired Edinburgh civil servant Angie Murray, 61, is mum to three grown-up children, and boasts six grandchildren. She and husband Harry, 79, love to spend time with family in Angie’s seaside village of Crovie on Aberdeenshire’s Dolphin Coast, as well as escaping to the sunshine of the Greek islands. Here she shares her favourite snaps. Grand kids

Harry and I share three children. The oldest is John and then there are the twins Harry and his sister Sonney. They have given us six grandchildren – Andrew, Vicky and Emma, who are adults, teenagers Murray and Katie, and the youngest, Joe, who is 10. This is us with Vicky who lives in Aberfeldy. Vicky is an accomplished kayaker and this summer competed in the World Wild Water Championships in Hungary.

We first holidayed in Greece 36 years ago and go there often. We especially love Crete and Corfu. Greece is a beautiful country and its people are so warm and welcoming. This family photo was taking during one of those special holidays. There is nothing better than sun, sea, and spending happy times with the people you love.

Beside the seaside

The tiny coastal village of Crovie near Banff in Aberdeenshire is home to me. My mum and my gran were born there. Both my sisters and I have a home there. It’s the place where the extended family gather for all our celebrations like birthdays and golden weddings. I love the sea, living beside it and being on it. There is no better place to be. And we have the most glorious sunsets here.

Charitable chums

Friends are a huge part of my life. Here I am with my pals Liz Bogie, on the left, and Gill Murray when we took part in Scotland’s breast cancer charity event – The MoonWalk – in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. We did the half-moon, 13 miles, proudly sporting our bras, from Holyrood Park. People leaving pubs and clubs were cheering us on and people in Ravelston came out with coffee and shortbread for us. It was great.
