Funeral could see games called off
Scottish Cup ties on Saturday, including the Old Firm game between Rangers and Celtic, may be postponed as they fall on the same day as the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
The Glasgow sides have been drawn against each other in the fourth round, with the fixture due to be played at 4pm.
With yesterday’s announcement that Prince Philip’s funeral will be held at 3pm on that day, all ties could be moved. Meanwhile, police are investigating after fireworks were let off over Celtic Park yesterday as players observed a minute’s silence for the duke.
All games across the country observed a silence in remembrance of Prince Philip but the moment of respect prior to Celtic’s game against Livingston was interrupted as fireworks were set off from outside the ground.
