What can you tell me about Bohemian Rhapsody? – V

It’s an irresistible and possibly unique piece of music trivia: A chart-topper knocked off the No 1 spot by a song mentioned in its lyrics. Abba’s Mamma Mia ended Bohemian Rhapsody’s reign in January 1976. It took some shifting – the six-minute suite of heavy rock, ballad and opera was No 1 for nine weeks. A promo clip, opening with band members in near-darkness and singing a cappella, helped launch the music video era. Magnifico!
