Mrs Lynch’s kitchen window view of the River Tay is pre-fabulous

- MORE MEMORIES IN GOLDEN YEARS – POST MATCH

“People Come Miles To Look Through Mrs Lynch’s Kitchen Window,” read the headline.

The story continued: “Sir Garnet Wilson lives in Perth Road,

Dundee, overlooking the River Tay. Mr Charles Lynch lives in a pre-fab at 41 Glamis Road, Dundee, and also overlooks the Tay. Sir Garnet envies Mr Lynch’s view of the river.

He said the view from the pre-fab front door was the most glorious view of the river that ever filled the eye. Frequently people call at the wee pre-fab standing alone at the tip of the scheme, and ask if they can come in and look through the window. They are welcomed and taken to the kitchenette, which gives the best angle.”
