Lucy, The Human Chimp

Born in 1964, Lucy was a chimpanzee raised as a human child.

However, by the age of 12, a decision was made to transport her to Africa, where she would be taught to behave as a normal chimp ahead of being released into the wild.

This documentary tells Lucy’s story as well as that of Janis Carter, then a young student who ended up living with her on an uninhabited island for the next six years.
