A broken arm and high drama at the notorious Devil’s Elbow

-

The Post reported on the now bypassed road that was once dubbed the scariest in Britain.

“A woman and two men were injured last night when a bus’s brakes failed while it was coming down the Devil’s Elbow,” read the story on the infamous double hairpin bend on the A93 between Glen Shee and Braemar. “The bus, from Dreghorn, Ayrshire, was returning from a day trip with 36 passengers. Only the presence of mind and skill of the driver in preventing the bus from getting completely out of control avoided a much more serious accident. Police, doctor and ambulance were summoned. The woman has a suspected fractured arm.”
