Life begins at 60 with so many happy memories to be made

-

Michael was feeling a little... old. He needed to make a dental appointment for a check-up.

“What were you stalling for?” I asked. “Maybe I am hoping I can get away with not going until I die,” he suggested with a grin. He’s 60, but was feeling older than his years. Walking on, we passed a stretch of parkland. People were walking dogs, there was a footpath, benches. “I remember when this was a railway line. But those memories are dead, and buried... under...”

As we walked, he looked around. He saw new trees, planted in the embankment. He saw raised gardens, looked after by primary school children. He saw a mother push a baby in a pram.

He ended his sentence with the words “...new life!” Then he added: “I’ll see you later. I have an appointment to make!”
