Titles are up for grabs in final ties

“Maybe this morning I was a little bit nervous so I just focused on playing well and making pars because here you can win a hole with pars.

“So I tried to play my best golf and focus on playing the best shots I can. I’m tired now after 36 holes but I’m very happy to be here. And I hope my family will come tomorrow to watch me.”

Meanwhile, the 95th staging of the Boys’ Amateur Championsh­ip saw Hansson come through at the 20th against Frenchman Louis Anceaux with countryman Ringvall Bengtsson beating England’s Morgan Blythe by one hole.

The Swedish pair attend the same school in Helsingbor­g and have played together for much of their junior days.

Ringvall Bengtsson said: “I’ve tried to enjoy it as much as possible, just walking around hitting shot by shot and now here I am in the final. I’m really excited.

Meanwhile, Hansson commented: “Didrik and I are very close friends so I’m looking forward to the final very much. I wouldn’t have thought of this at the start of the week, only in my dreams maybe, but it will be a lot of fun.”

The Boys’ Champion earns exemptions into The Amateur Championsh­ip, US Boys’ Junior, subject to age eligibilit­y, and The Open Final Qualifying.
