Kennedy faces competition to land manager’s job in Denmark
John Kennedy is locked in a five-way fight to be the next manager of FC Midtjylland.
The Celtic coach is seen by the Danish club as a viable candidate to become their next boss.
His Hoops gaffer, Ange Postecoglou, has stated he will not stand in his assistant’s way should he want to go out in his own right.
It is understood the post does interest Kennedy, a previous managerial target for both Hibs and St Mirren.
However, the Danes are also looking at other possibilities, with a five-strong shortlist under consideration.
If the Scot is successful, Shaun Maloney, his former team-mate and
long-term friend, could be asked to join him in Scandinavia.
As Postecoglou said, Kennedy’s situation adds extra spice to a busy time, with Josip Juranovic being touted for a £15-million move to Chelsea
“I think this transfer window is going to be pretty hectic in the last couple of weeks,” said the Celtic manager, who will look to shift on fringe players such as Albian Ajeti in the coming weeks.
Kieran Tierney, the former Celtic full-back being linked with a move to Manchester City, was an Arsenal substitute against Leicester City.
It’s believed there was no significance to the move, with manager Mikel Arteta opting to stick with a winning team.
