Restaurant of the week
Delivino 6 King Street, Crieff
Location
Situated right in the heart of the town centre, this lovely little eaterie is easily accessible and nice and central with parking and public transport nearby.
First impressions
With its simplistic exterior and little stripy canopies, Delivino is inviting from the outside. Inside, it’s a similar vibe, with lots of clean white and wood – and a wine cabinet that will leave you hard-pushed to choose just one glass or bottle!
Service
We were greeted by a friendly waitress as soon as we walked through the door who showed us to a table and talked us through the menu and the specials board. Food was prompt and served with a smile.
Menu
It’s a sizeable menu with plenty to choose from. There’s pizza and pasta, as well as platters and small plates, which means you can graze if you’re just a little peckish. For mains, there’s plenty of variety, from beef cheek gnocchi to a burger.
Taste
We chose the sausage pizza and a few small plates – garlic chilli prawns and pork, chilli and fennel meatballs – to share. Everything was melt-in-the-mouth delicious and the pizza was cooked to perfection. The kids’ tomato pasta looked delicious and they vouched for this as they licked the plates clean. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for but the cheesecake, while nice, was served in a glass which is a bit quirky.
Ambience
It was late afternoon when we visited which meant it was nice and quiet and relaxed with just a few other tables. We felt at home which is always a good sign,
Price
At just under £80 for two adults and two wee ones with puddings and drinks, we think it’s pretty reasonable.
