UN inspectors to visit nuclear plant
UN investigators will be allowed to visit a critical nuclear plant in Ukraine.
Kyiv and Moscow have accused each other of shelling Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, at Zaporizhzhia, stoking fears.
But Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron have agreed on the need to send a team from the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The nuclear plant has been under Russian occupation since March but Ukrainian technicians still run it.
IAEA director general Rafael Grossi said: “It is of vital importance that no new action is taken that could further endanger the safety and security of one of the world’s largest nuclear power plants.”
