Aretha Franklin: A Tribute To The Queen Of Soul At The Proms

It’s time to show the Queen of Soul a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T as Jules Buckley and his new ensemble is joined by American singer and Quincy Jones protégé, Shelea, to perform some of the songs made famous by Franklin.

The concert marks both the diva’s 80th anniversary year and 50 years since the release of her album Young, Gifted And Black.

Those are very big shoes for Shelea to fill and maybe she’d be even more daunted if she knew BBC4 was following the Prom.
