Hot Lips is one of a number of flowering salvias that have become very popular with gardeners in recent years. These highly decorative plants – which are red in midsummer, bi-coloured red and white in July and August and sometimes white when the days shorten – are slightly tender, but they are easy to propagate from cuttings and so can be kept going from year to year.
