Musk’s mum: My son was a genius at 3 years old
Elon Musk was already a genius by the age of three, his mother has said.
Maye Musk, a model and ambassador for the fashion brand Dior, said her son’s ability to remember information was always striking.
She told how, in 1983 at the age of 12, Elon came up with a computer game, which Maye, 74, says she showed to university students.
“They were surprised that he knew all the coding shortcuts.
“These guys were in their second and third year in computer science and they were very impressed.
“But you still don’t know if he’s going to do great things because many geniuses just end up in a basement being a genius, but not applying it.”
Musk 51, the Tesla and SpaceX chief executive, is now worth upwards of £200 billion.
Maye said her modelling career really took off after she went grey, and cut her hair short, adding: “People are booking me for my wrinkles.”
She has appeared on a number of magazine covers, notably a faked-up take-off of Demi Moore’s naked pregnancy cover for New York magazine.
The latest cover was her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut in May, an experience she describes as “terrifying”.
Her memoir, A Woman Makes A Plan, has been translated into 30 languages.
