Welsh got it write during lockdown
Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh has a new book out this week, the brilliant sequel to Crime, and I had the pleasure of interviewing him in a pub in his native Leith for Scotland Tonight.
I made the mistake of asking what he’d been up to in the last few years and was frankly depressed at his response.
Rather than sitting around watching Netflix during lockdown, he’d written several books, started working on Trainspotting The Musical, got fit and fallen in love. He said he was suffering from Lockdown Thrivers’ Guilt because he’d achieved so much. Not something I suffer from I’m sorry to say.
