Garden of the week
Glasgow Botanic Gardens are a much-loved green space in the heart of the city’s West End. They are also home to some fantastic plant collections, including leafy begonias, carnivorous species, orchids and tree ferns, which grow in abundance in the garden’s Kibble Palace. Tucked away at the back of the garden, overlooking the River Clyde, is an arboretum of rare trees while the Children’s Garden is home to willow structures and apple trees.
