Bow Fiddle Rock, Portknockie, Moray
“An awe-inspiring natural sea arch carved out of Cullen quartzite rock by the artistic hand of the North Sea and named after its resemblance to the tip of a bow fiddle, it had been top of my list of places to visit during our Blue Scotland project and when we reached the Moray coast
in October we were blessed with calm seas and light winds. We met with a local friend soon after sunrise for a swim out to thread the eye of the needle. Much of it lies hidden underwater, and with Rachel’s camera we could see the arch stretching to the seabed.
Rachel won a Great Exposure Photography Competition with her picture of the arch which is on show at Heathrow Airport.”
