French police admit defeat in mystery of the Drummond murders

Sir Jack Cecil Drummond, a renowned biochemist, was murdered, alongside his wife and 10-year-old daughter, in what became known as the Dominici affair, after a peasant farm owner, Gaston Dominici, was found guilty of the crime. The crime, trial and verdict caused huge controversy in France, with many believing Dominici did not receive a fair trial due to his background and class.
