Pack it in! Raw Deal solves left luggage case

A couple who had to pay extra fees to have their luggage couriered home from Rome are relieved after Raw Deal helped resolve the issue.

Stephanie Morrison and Goncalo Cunha travelled to Italy from Aberdeen via Amsterdam with KLM in July.

“We had two suitcases in the hold, one which we had paid extra for,” said Morrison. However, the evening before their return, the couple received an email saying there was a baggage malfunctio­n at Schiphol Airport and they could not bring hold luggage with them.

“We were told they would get our bags to us when they could,” said Morrison.

They boarded the flight and their suitcases were sent home by courier, which cost €160. They also purchased a small suitcase for €80.

When the couple tried to claim these costs back, they felt they were going around in circles, so called in Raw Deal.

Not long after we contacted KLM, they were soon reimbursed.

KLM said: “The issue has been resolved and all is settled.”
