Greenpeace plans new £45m ship
Greenpeace is working on plans to build a £45 million ship that would be among the greenest in the world.
The pioneering vessel would be powered by sails as much as possible but could utilise methanol – a type of alcohol – as a back-up fuel source.
Only around 20 ships in the world run on the substance, but the second-largest shipping company, Maersk, recently ordered eight cargo ships that can run on methanol.
