Money-saving expert offers an early Christmas gift

-

I’m already seeing reminders that Christmas is less than 100 days away. Why on earth do we begin this ludicrous countdown so early? Can’t we just forget about it till the start of December at least?

So I was horrified to see someone tweeting this week that they’d seen a Christmas tree lit up in a Glasgow flat window. I don’t even want to think about how much Christmas shopping that person has already done. Why can’t they do it the weekend before, like me?

Speaking of spending, money-saving expert Martin Lewis has enough in the bank to never work another day in his life – he’s worth £120 million – but still regularly offers advice and urges the government to help people out with the crippling cost of energy bills.

And when guest presenting Good Morning Britain the other day he pledged £100,000 of his own cash to help a struggling financial advice charity.

Martin truly puts his money where his mouth is. Now that’s an early Christmas present I can applaud.
