Pensioner dies and eight hurt in crash

A 73-year-old woman has died and eight people were taken to hospital following a road crash in the Highlands.

Police have appealed for witnesses following the accident on the A9 near Slochd, which is 17 miles south of Inverness.

The incident occurred at around 7.45pm on Friday and involved a silver Audi A4 and a white Volvo B12 single deck coach.

Eight coach passengers were taken to hospital after the incident and were treated for minor injuries.

Meanwhile, police in Aberdeen are investigat­ing an “unexplaine­d” death after a body was found at a roundabout in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Officers were called to the scene in Dyce, at approximat­ely 3.30am.
