First Impressions

Stylish interior with al fresco seating and a laid-back, friendly vibe.

Service

First class. We chose an al fresco table and had a waiter at our side within seconds of being seated. We were en route to the theatre and needed fast service.

Menu

We were spoiled for choice with plenty of authentic Turkish and other Mediterranean options from a grill, fish, and chef’s specials selections. There were also pasta, salad and wood fire oven choices, as well as a kids’ menu.

Taste

Wonderful. My guest and I were both tempted by the hot and cold starters; the mutabbal (smoked augergines) and the grilled sucuck (Turkish sausages) but went straight to the main courses. I chose the meat moussaka; layers of potatoes, courgettes, aubergines and minced meat served with bechemel sauce, along with a fresh tomato sauce and rice. My guest chose creamy salmon penne, cooked in a white wine cream sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese. Both were delicious. The last time I had moussaka that good was in Cyprus. We were severely tempted by the shish offer and the pistachio kebab, as well as the monkfish casserole, cooked with onion, peppers, creamy tomato sauce and served on mashed potato and vowed to make repeated return visits.

Ambience

A Mediterranean vibe. If it wasn’t for the chill wind blowing off the North Sea we could almost convince ourselves that we were on holiday.

Price

Our bill, with drinks, was a reasonable £36.
