Widowed cleaner Ada Harris becomes obsessed with a client’s Dior dress. When she receives a war widow’s pension, she travels to Paris to buy her own. Befriending some of Dior’s workers, she organises a strike after the company makes cuts due to financial constraints, forcing Dior to modernise the business and make it profitable again.
