The vast heather collections in Riverside Park in Perth include varieties that are in colour all year round, but at this time of year some of the most vivid-coloured types are in flower.

More than 500 varieties, made up of 16,000 plants, are cultivated here allowing visitors to enjoy their beauty and to find out more about how to use heather in their own gardens. The heather collection at Riverside Park is maintained by Beautiful Perth, who carry out a large number of environmental projects across the city.
