All together now: “I’m blue, da ba dee da ba di, da ba dee”! It’s the chorus Rolling Stone described as “baby-babble so infantile it makes the Teletubbies sound like Shakespeare”. Ouch. Yet in 1999, at the height of the dance music boom, Italian trio Jeffrey Jey, Maurizio Lobina and Gabry Ponte spent three weeks at No 1. And they were back at the top this year – sort of – courtesy of David Guetta and Bebe Rexha’s Blue-sampling I’m Good.
