Milton will keep to the Script

- By Reg Moore sport@sundaypost.com

Spare a thought for Scriptwriter at Sedgefield today, who has swapped five-star luxury with Aiden O’Brien for chilly Northumberland.

With sheep looking on, 30 miles south of Newcastle, the hurdles debut of the son of Churchill is made for Wiltshire trainer, Milton Harris.

He was a flat sixth in Newmarket’s Autumn Stakes, beaten six lengths by 2000 Guineas winner, Coroebus.

Light Em Up Nigel will take a bit of beating in the two-mile maiden hurdle for Somerset trainer, Nicky Martin.

He has a rating of 114, normally enough to win one of these, and the six-year-old is one of only two runners making the 680-mile round trip.

He was only beaten three-quarters-of a-length by Operation Manna at Exeter in March, and that winner hunted down 121-rated Monviel at Sandown.

Tracey Waggott’s Hajey looks nicelytreated after running a fine second to I Am Spider Man over today’s course and distance.

The five-year-old was only narrowly beaten, despite losing his right hind shoe and after a six-month break.
