Hurricane Wilma became the most intense Atlantic hurricane on record with a minimum pressure of 882mb.

A phone call informed National Hurricane Center director Max Mayfield that Wilma had not only intensified into a Category 5 hurricane but it was also the most intense Atlantic Basin storm ever measured.
