Labour:We are surging

-

Labour is now the party that will take votes from the SNP and defend the union, according to its deputy leader in Scotland.

Polls show the Tories face losing hundreds of seats in a General Election with Labour set to make gains from the SNP in Scotland.

Scottish Labour deputy leader Jackie Baillie said: “The idea that the Conservatives are the party of the union is a sham. Polls show that only Labour will take votes from the SNP and defend the union – while the Tories face electoral oblivion.”

The SNP said Labour and the Conservatives were both bad for Scottish voters and called for independence.

SNP MP Drew Hendry said: “Neither shower can be trusted to deliver for the people of this country.”
