Kinghorn can be key as

Scotland just got the better of Australia in last year’s Autumn Nations Series, and they also won the previous two meetings of the sides back in 2017.

But, as he prepares to welcome the Wallabies to Murrayfiel­d, Gregor Townsend has warned his players that they will need to get up to full speed straight away against opponents who are sure to be ready after playing in The Rugby Championsh­ip.

“We obviously had a very tight game against them last year,” the Scotland coach said after naming a squad of 40 for the Series.

“I didn’t think we played that well, but we just did enough to win.

“Australia come into this fixture with more match fitness and battle hardness. They’ve had the Rugby Championsh­ip, and we’ve got to hit the ground running.

“They’re a really good attacking side. They’re very dangerous and know each other really well.
