Morton boss Dougie Imrie was delighted after his side extended their unbeaten run to four games against 10-man Dundee at Dens.

The Greenock side lost to Partick Thistle at the start of this month but since then have won three and now drawn one.

However, Imrie insisted no one at the club was getting carried away. He said: “Both teams went at it to get the three points but it is still a valuable point for us and we will take it down the road.

“It has been a great turnaround for us since the game at Partick Thistle and we are four on the bounce undefeated.

“We are delighted but we will just keep our feet on the ground and keep pushing.”

Dundee boss Gary Bowyer conceded a draw was probably fair especially after Josh Mulligan was sent off in the 78th minute after receiving two yellow cards.

Bowyer said: “Obviously when Josh gets sent off, you have to play 12 minutes with 10 men.

“So I am really pleased with how we defended with 10 men.

“I have watched the challenge back and the referee said it was reckless and gave him another yellow.

“Was a draw a fair result? Probably.”

The home side had the first chance of the game with less than a minute on the clock but Cammy Kerr’s 20-yard shot was easily held by Morton keeper Brian Schwake.

The Dark Blues dominated the opening stages but failed to test Schwake again until the 17th minute when Mulligan cut in from the left but his angled drive flew straight at the keeper.

The visitors finally created a half chance when Carlo Pignatiello hit a great ball across the face of the Dundee goal but there were no takers.

Dundee had a big scare in the 39th minute when keeper Ian

Lawlor came racing out of his box to clear but the ball broke to Jai Quitongo who wasn’t able to find a team-mate with the cross.

Just seconds after the restart, Dundee came close to breaking the deadlock when Jordan Marshall hit a fierce, rising shot from 20 yards that Schwake acrobatically tipped over his bar.

In the 56th minute Robbie Muirhead tried to punch the ball into the net but he received a yellow card for his efforts.

Dundee came agonisingly close when Paul McMullan sent a cross in from the right with fellow sub Zak Rudden chesting the ball off the inside of Schwake’s post.

Dundee were reduced to 10 men in the 78th minute when Mulligan picked up his second yellow card in the space of three minutes.

Both sides had chances late on to take the three points but a Muirhead long-range shot was deflected just wide while Dundee’s Lee Ashcroft sent a free header over the bar.
