What’s in bloom?
Colchicum autumnale are often confused with crocuses, but they are in fact members of the lily family.
They are sometimes called ‘Naked ladies’ because the leaves don’t appear until after the flowers have faded. Naturalise them in grass or grow them in rich, well-drained soil.
