The Sunday Post (Newcastle)

Amy and Josh, two young friends of mine, are just back from a holiday with their family and couldn’t wait to tell me how much fun they’d had.

But first, they told me there had been a mix-up with the train tickets, which a helpful guard sorted out.

Other passengers moved so they could sit around a table. Josh left his smartphone in a restaurant and a waitress ran after them to return it. Then someone gave them free tickets for entertainments.

“Is that what made it a great holiday?” I asked them. “All those people being kind to you?” Josh shook his head.

“No,” Amy insisted. “We were really lucky that people went out their way to help us, so we decided to try to pass their kindness on to as many other people as we could. That’s when the real fun began!”
