THE SCOTS MAGAZINE

- Robert Wight, editor, The Scots Magazine

Readers of The Scots Magazine shared at least one thing with the late Queen Elizabeth II – a deep love of Scotland.

Some of her happiest times were said to be the long holidays spent on the Balmoral estate with her family.

In the November issue of The Scots Magazine – the first to go to press since the Queen’s death – we pay tribute by exploring some of her favourite places in the Highlands.

We also look at another of Queen Elizabeth’s great passions – rearing Highland ponies and cattle. Her work on the breeding programme with ponies was of particular importance – they’re still regarded as a “rare breed”. Ewan Pate has written a fascinating article.

You’ll also find all the monthly inspiration you expect of your favourite magazine – from the country’s top festivals and events, to outdoor activities and the most exciting places to visit and explore.
