It didn’t look great from the bench – so Zach sorted it!

The introduction of striker Zach Robinson as part of a triple half-time substitution by Dundee boss Gary Bowyer changed this game as Dee fought back to grab victory.

Robinson scored one goal and had an assist for another as the Dens men turned a two-goal deficit intoa3-2win.

Front man Robinson, on loan from AFC Wimbledon, said: “You try to turn the result around and I played a part, but it was a team effort.

“It didn’t look very great from the bench first half, and it’s hard to look over it, but it shouldn’t have got to that stage. But we learned from it.

“There was a feeling in the dressing room at halftime we could turn things around.

“We knew we had it in us and had the character to turn things around and get the win.

“You never want to overplay anything but hopefully it will kick us on and do things which will help us win games.

“I love scoring goals and I’m happy it led to a comeback and we managed to win the game.

“You aim to be in the starting line-up every week and sometimes you’re not and you do what you can to get in it.

“I haven’t been paying too much attention to the league but I know it’s very close and one game can make the league look way out of proportion.

It’s a tight league and you have to stay focused from one game to the next”.

Bowyer added: “It was a massive effort from everyone second half. We’ve got to be better than we were first half and use this now to really kick on.

“It’s always good to come back and win from 2–0 but we shouldn’t be giving teams that start and that’s the work we’ll be looking at this week.

“I’ve been speaking about the fight and spirit and shift in mentality and we’ve seen it again second half – fair play to them.

“You use that as evidence and you put it in your bank if you ever need it again in that scenario.”

Thistle were jeered from the field at the end, by fans, furious at the

side’s fifth successive defeat.

Reflecting on the fans’ reaction, Jags assistant boss Neil Scally said: “It’s totally understandable and I get where they are coming from.

“But if they are coming to the games they will see we have been in every game. We have had an opportunity in every game and big moments have cost us.

“We have had a few things going against us that probably shouldn’t and the fans can see the players we have out injured.

“Hopefully they will be patient with us, we can get the players back and we can be judged then.”
