The art of defiance
Street artist Banksy yesterday revealed his latest works on a bombed-out building in Ukraine.
The mysterious artist posted a picture on Instagram of the artwork, showing a gymnast doing a handstand on the side of a gutted building in Borodyanka.
The artist posted three images of the mural with a caption saying: “Borodyanka, Ukraine”.
Murals around Ukraine’s capital Kyiv had led to speculation that the anonymous artist was working in the country. One showed a judo fighter resembling Vladimir Putin being beaten by a child.
Borodyanka was one of the towns hardest hit by Russian bombardment in February.
