Ricky Gervais’s boss from hell is now a travelling toiletries salesman desperate to rekindle his music career, in The Office’s big-screen spin-off. The movie received mixed reviews but Gervais defended it, describing Brent as “such a dork. He says the wrong thing, but his heart’s in the right place. He wants to be one of the gang, be funny and be loved, like we all do.”
