From kayaks to clay pigeon shooting...you can’t trump these adventures and fun
Nestled in the heart of the Trump Turnberry Resort, just an hour’s drive from Glasgow, Turnberry Adventures is the perfect place to expand your horizons.
The estate is set within 323 hectares (800 acres) of beautiful Scottish countryside, and offers a range of activities for both youngsters and adults.
All the activities are centred around the Turnberry Adventures Hub, a short walk from the main hotel, and are available for non-residents as well as hotel guests.
On offer are multi-activity packages for individuals or groups – such as families or stag and hen days. There is a variety of outdoor pursuits to try, in water and on land.
For clay pigeon shooting, given that the Scottish weather isn’t always reliable, an all-weather shooting shelter allows participation come rain or shine. The recently-redeveloped shooting school is ideal for novices keen to learn and experienced shots wishing to practise.
If you’re keen on field sports, there’s a six-lane, 35m facility retro-fitted into a former RAF small arms range. Shooting state-of-the-art air rifles at various distances from within the lodge building, this is a safe all-weather activity.
Or, if you prefer a more historical approach, you can attempt to master the longbow.
Aquatic activities include kayaking or paddleboarding. Perhaps you’ll try to spot seals in Turnberry Bay or venture out to Turnberry Lighthouse.
For wheelie good adventures, hire an electric bike to explore the area, with a list of routes on the resort map.
For a bigger adrenaline rush, tackle the outdoor course on adult or junior quad bikes, or test your skills on a Land Rover Defender across the specially-designed 4x4 track.
Experienced horse riders can enjoy a beach ride
– with views of the Firth of Clyde and Ailsa Craig
– and wee ones will love the lead rein sessions or the “own a pony experience”, both suitable from five years of age.
Don’t miss: Explore the resort with a memorable horse and carriage ride.
