CALEDONIAN BRAVES were

4-1 winners over RUTHERGLEN GLENCAIRN in the South of Scotland Cup with Ross McNeil scoring for them after five minutes and Marc Kelly doubling the score with a 21st-minute penalty. Four minutes before the turn, Rutherglen pulled one back but, in the 56th minute, Kelly scored from the penalty spot to make it 3-1 after a handball in the box which saw Sean McGuire red-carded. Kelly completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute when slid in to finish off a loose ball.

LINLITHGOW ROSE knocked out CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS 3-1 and they had man-of-the-match Mark Stowe to thank with a great hat-trick. However, they had to come back after Strollers took an early lead with a Marc Laird goal but Stowe hit the equaliser in the 20th minute and added a second to make it 2-1 at the interval. He went on to complete his hat-trick with a 70th-minute goal.

BROXBURN ATHLETIC cracked in four second-half goals for a 4-1 win over COLDSTREAM, who took the lead in the 22nd minute with an Ejay Gay goal and held the lead until half-time. But they were hit by three goals in eight minutes by the visitors as Liam Gray curled in the equaliser in the 58th minute and, four minutes later, Josh Jeffries shot home before grabbing a second in the 64th minute. Gary Brass notched the fourth with nine minutes left.

TRANENT JUNIORS had a nervy last half hour to edge out BLACKBURN UNITED 3-2 despite leading 2-0 at the interval through goals from Martin Maughan and Nicholas Reid. Blackburn pulled one back five minutes after the turn with a Laurie Devine strike but Rory Currie restored Tranent’s two-goal lead. However, Callum Heath’s second goal for United set up an exciting finish.
