Garden of the week
St Mary’s Pleasance is a recreated 17th Century walled garden in Haddington.
The 1.6-acre, East Lothian site, which is cared for by Haddington Garden Trust, has a box parterre, heather borders, topiaried trees and a laburnum tunnel. Many of the plants grown in the garden have been specially selected in order to attract bees and butterflies and bird and bat boxes throughout the garden provide nesting spots.
