Pre­mium welling­ton boots brand Hunter Boots fell to a £5.3m loss last year de­spite higher rev­enues as it shoul­dered £3.8m of for­eign ex­change losses and boosted its work­force by a quar­ter in an Asian ex­pan­sion ef­fort. The Ed­in­burgh­based com­pany took over full con­trol of its Ja­panese arm from its for­mer dis­tri­bu­tion part­ner and opened new stores in Na­gashima and Toronto, along with a sourc­ing of­fice in Shen­zhen, help­ing lift sales 1.5pc to £104.5m.
