Zarak Out of unbeaten Arc winner Zarkava. Disappointing until stepping up to a mile and a half last time. Drawn on Chantilly high street. Needs to step up again but could well be pick of the home team. Star rating ***

Doha Dream Even trained by the greatest Arc trainer of all time, Andre Fabre, this is either a pacemaker for Brametot or a social runner. Not top notch.*

One Foot In Heaven Sixth at 100-1 last year. Yet to win this season. Will need all four feet on terra firma to make an impact.*

Ulysses Eclipse and International winner is a typical Stoute improver. Two biggest wins over 10 furlongs. ‘Coffin box’ draw on inside rail a negative. Can reduce five-length King George gap on Enable but hard to see him reversing it. ****

Cloth Of Stars A lively outsider for Godolphin and Fabre. Broke through at highest level this summer but behind Dschingis Secret in their trial. Form tailed off last autumn. **

Silverwave Running in his third Arc (13th and 10th so far). Hard to see him improving aged five.*

Idaho Best drawn of the O’Brien five. Not far behind Ulysses on King George form. Would not be the greatest shock but others preferred from Ballydoyle. **

Dschingis Secret German contender with some wide margin wins at home. Burst into Arc contention when winning the Prix Foy over course and distance three weeks ago. Best chance if heavy rain turns course boggy.***

Satono Diamond Stamina is the four-year-old’s strong point but he has disappointed in France. Needs big turn round to make Japanese history.** 10 Satono Noblesse Pacemaker for his stable companion. *

Iquitos The second German runner. A Group One winner but looks a little short of what is required here. ** 12 Order Of St George Third last year and sluiced up in recent Irish St Leger. Test of stamina would play to his strengths but would not be suited if it is run like most French races – dawdle followed by sprint. **** 13 Seventh Heaven High point of career when she beat last year’s Arc winner, Found, in last year’s Yorkshire Oaks. Has not done anything of note since the spring and drawn on wide outside. **

Brametot French Derby winner. Comeback prep at Deauville six weeks ago was disappointing. Has never been the distance. ***

Capri The Irish Derby and St Leger hero. Had a hard race there but optimum trip probably a mile and a half. Rejected by Ryan Moore but that might not stop him running a big race. ****

Plumatic Lightly raced maiden winner. Looked like he would need today’s trip last time. Likes soft but lacks class. **

Enable Seems bombproof, goes on any ground, optimum trip. Only doubt if she is over the top but she does not look this will be a bridge too far. Not a great draw so will need luck in running. *****

Winter Ryan Moore’s pick from five. Having won both Guineas and Coronation has the gears. Question mark over stamina on her first attempt over a mile and a half. Goes on any ground and great attitude. ****
