HOW TO MAKE A POM-POM SNOWMAN

The Sunday Telegraph - Sunday - - Cover Story -

1 Using a pom-pom maker (it’s easier than cardboard; £1.68, amazon. co.uk), wrap strands from two balls of wool at a time around one half. When it’s full, fasten the clip.

2 Cut along the “crease” of the wool.

3 Tie a length of wool around the centre, making sure to doubleknot, and trim. Open out the clips and fluff out.

4 For the snowman’s face, start with orange wool in the middle of one half of the pom-pom maker and wrap four strands. Cover it over with a layer of white wool.

5 For the eyes, wrap four strands of black wool approximately one third of the way along the maker. Cover with white wool until it is full.

6 Wrap white wool around the other half of the pom-pom maker until it is full and repeat steps two and three.

7 Tie the two halves together and handcrochet a little scarf to complete your snowman.
