THE FACTS Sunday PEUGEOT 5008 GT LINE PREMIUM PURETECH 130

- By email:

cyclists, we praise the riders who conquered the dramatic route with just pedal power during the 2014 Tour de France, before mentioning we’ve just completed the route ourselves. They seem impressed until realising it was by car!

Suitably replete, we continue our locations tour in the nearby village of Askrigg, renamed Darrowby in the series. Pulling over by the church, we wander up to the unmistakable doorway of Skeldale House, where the TV vets worked, which is now a B&B, while further up the road the Kings Arms, better known as the Drovers in the show, is still pulling in the punters.

A few miles farther along, we visit the dramatic three-stepped Aysgarth Falls on the river Ure which has drawn millions of visitors for centuries, including the likes of Wordsworth and the artist J M W Turner – while James and Helen explored this honeypot site during their on-screen courting days.

That evening, we finish our jaunt at the cosy Wensleydale Heifer, West Witton. After a delicious meal, it’s time to head south to Somerset and, as requested by the children, more reruns of All Creatures Great and Small. I don’t complain!

Closing date: Strategies First see if any line has a single clue number bigger than half the length of its line. If there is one, you can fill one or more squares in the centre of the line.
