From M&S’s new “Found” range of more unusual wines, a ripe and full-textured white with apricot,

peach and honeysuckle notes, finishing dry. If you like viognier, this should appeal; match it with roast chicken or firm white fish such as hake. Tastes stronger than

its relatively light 11.5%.

Sorcova Pinot Noir 2019/20 Romania (12.5%, Waitrose, £7.99

down to £6.36 until May 4)

Another fine value pinot from Cramele Recas, a little more fresh and summery than the Co-op one described left. Aromatic, with lively plum and strawberry mid-palate and a juicy smack of red cherries on the end. Could be chilled lightly for a

more refreshing pour.

Solomonar Reserve Red 2019

Romania (14.5%, Majestic, £9.99 or £8.99 in a mixed six)

Altogether more chunky and rich, a blend of local grape feteasca neagra with cabernet sauvignon and merlot, oak-aged.

There’s spicy black cherry and cassis here and quite a lot of tannin on the finish; pair

it with roast lamb or full-flavoured cheeses.
